David Walsh started second and took over the lead at the start of the 15-lap Newville Construction Services Street Stock main. Following a third-lap restart, Walsh was setting the pace with Pat McNeal, Adam Gutshall, Kevin Wirt and Greg Diehl following.

Doug Hoffman, the tenth place starter, moved into fifth place on lap six. One lap later the two lead cars driven by David Walsh and Pat McNeal, tangled at the exit of turn four. While the two cars went to the pits, the new leader Adams Gutshall came to a halt on the front stretch. Gutshall retired to the pit area with a broken right front suspension.

The new leader was Kevin Wirt, with Doug Hoffman in second. One lap later Hoffman captured the lead. With five-laps remaining point leader Paul Morgan advanced to second. Morgan could not catch the Camaro of Hoffman. Hoffman, from Mechanicsburg, won his first of the year by ten-lengths over Paul Morgan, Sam Rial, Kevin Wirt and Dustin Hollinger.

04-12-2011

Hoffman finished 6th after starting 10th on a narrow and heavy track that was difficult to pass on. After the 27 crew spent the beginning of the night worked the bugs out of a new car Doug had to start his heat in the back of the field and worked his way into a qualifying position for the feature. The car was much better at the end of the night but track conditions and heavy traffic stopped Hoffman from working his way to the front and he had to settle for a strong 6th place finish. All in all it was a good night out for the Hoffman Motorsports #27 team for the opening night with a new race car.

09-26-10 ( www.DirtTrackDigest.com )

The 15-lap L.B. Smith Ford Street Stock feature started with a six-car pile-up on the front stretch. Several drivers were shaken up in the crash, but thankfully none required medical treatment.

Steven Dove, driving one of the two Ford-powered entries in the class, took over the lead with Greg Diehl, Jeff Haag, and Craig Morgan giving chase. Doug Hoffman, the 12th place starter, was fifth by the end of the third lap.

By the sixth lap leader Steven Dove had company as Diehl, Hoffman and Morgan were right behind the Dove No. 22. On the seventh lap Hoffman took over second. One lap later the caution flag came out. On the restart Hoffman passed Dove on the front stretch.

Once in front Hoffman, from Mechanicsburg, left the field behind. Hoffman easily won his fifth of the year by an eighth-mile over Greg Diehl, Steven Dove, Jeff Haag and Sam Rial. Rial was making his first start of the season.

“The car was good,” said Doug Hoffman. “It could have been tighter. Man, you can’t ask much more than what these guys put out for me. We were off earlier in the day and they went to work. Man, they gave me a heck of a racecar.”

08-30-10 ( www.DirtTrackDigest.com )

Joey Hoffer led the first two laps of the 15-lap L.B. Smith Ford Street Stock feature. On the third lap Steven Dove passed Hoffer in turn three. Doug Hoffman, the eighth place starter, took over third behind Dove and Hoffer.

By the completion of lap five Doug Hoffman captured second place behind Dove. Dove and Hoffman had a very tight battle for the lead. On lap eight the lead duo were even for the entire lap.

The race made a drastic change with five laps remaining. The engine expired in the Dove Ford sending him to the pits. Doug Hoffman became the new leader with Hoffer, Craig Morgan, Kory Sites and Dustin Hollinger in close pursuit. Sites advanced to second and tried to catch Hoffman. Hoffman won the race by six lengths over Sites, Hoffer, Morgan and Hollinger. This if Hoffman’s fourth feature win at Williams Grove.

“Our car is handling great right now. The track slicked off a little bit. Once I got up on top and in my lane, I was on cruise control,” said the winner.

05-30-10 ( www.DirtTrackDigest.com )

Doug Hoffman, from Mechanicsburg, won the 15-lap L.B. Smith Ford Street Stock feature. Hoffman has won all three Saturday Night Series Street Stock mains.

Todd Martin led the first three laps of the feature. On lap four, sixth place starter Doug Hoffman became the new leader. Dustin Hollinger advanced to second.

Hoffman’s Camaro was perfect. Over the final seven laps he drove away from the field. When the checkered flag came out Hoffman was victorious by 15 lengths over Dustin Hollinger, Kevin Wirt, Bob Gutshall and Pat McNeal.

“The car was really good,” said Hoffman. “It just feels good to drive a car like this. We got an awesome car.”

David Walsh Jr., Doug Hoffman and Chad Smith won the heat races for the 26-car field.

05-09-10 ( www.DirtTrackDigest.com )

Todd Martin led the first lap of the L.B. Smith Ford Street Stock feature. Kevin Wirt raced in second while fifth-place starter Doug Hoffman was in third. Hoffman advanced to second on the third lap.

The caution flag came out at the end of the third circuit. On the restart leader Todd Martin slid wide in turn two. Hoffman drove under Martin to gain the lead.

Kevin Wirt captured second place. A series of caution flags in the final five laps set Wirt up with a challenge for the lead. A final-lap restart found Wirt pulling even with Hoffman on the backstretch. Hoffman gained a slight advantage in the final turns. Wirt had a strong run off the bottom of turn four. The lead duo raced to the finish line and Hoffman won his second straight by a half-length over Wirt. Kevin Sigler finished in third followed by Craig Morgan and Don Murphy.

“The track slicked-off a good bit there at the end,” said Doug Hoffman. “I was just hoping to hold them off. “I saw him (Kevin Wirt) beside me on the last lap. It was a good race. Nice and clean and a lot of fun.”

04-10-10 (Williams Grove Speedway)

Doug Hoffman won the 15-lap L.B. Smith Ford Street Stock feature.  Hoffman
made a late pass to win the feature.

Bob Gutshall started third and held the lead by the end of lap one.  While
Gutshall continued to lead the event, the driver on the move was Doug
Hoffman.  Hoffman started 11th and was fifth by the end of lap five.

A series of caution flags aided Doug Hoffman. By the end of the ninth lap
Hoffman was in second.  Following Hoffman through the traffic was Craig
Morgan.   After a lap ten restart the trio of Gutshall, Hoffman and Morgan
exited the second turn three-wide.

On lap 13 the Bob Gutshall Camaro slid up the track in turn four.
Hoffman’s blue No. 27 went through the opening and gained the lead.
Hoffman held the lead to the checkered flag.  Hoffman won by four lengths
over Gutshall, Craig Morgan, Greg Diehl and Chad Smith.

“I never had a season opener win before,” remarked Doug Hoffman.  “It is a
good way to start out obviously.  It was a tough run because I had to fight
for every pass I had.”

The 6th Annual Miller’s Racing Parts Fall Classic was very exciting this weekend and at the end Doug Hoffman finished 2nd.  In his heat Hoffman started 9th and worked his way up to 2nd.  After starting 4th in the A-Main on a track that was difficult to pass on Doug worked his way up to 2nd but was later shuffled back to 3rd when the leaders entered lapped traffic.  Hoffman was able to stay on the two leaders bumpers but with his car getting looser as the race went on and the top side of the track going away he came across the line in 3rd but in post race inspection the car finishing 2nd was disqualified moving the Hoffman Motorsports #27 into the runner up position.

09-22-09

After setting 15th fast time out of 50 cars Doug had mechanical trouble in his heat that kept him from qualifying finishing 6th and forcing the team to make repairs for the Consolation race on Saturday.  A strong 2nd place finish gave Hoffman a 24th place starting position in the Feature event.  Hoffman worked his way up to a 14th place finish.  With this being the first time Doug or the team ever raced at Hagerstown Speedway and they had 50cc smaller engine then the rest of the field everyone at Hoffman Motorsports is pleased with our results.

09-16-09

The next event for Doug Hoffman and the #27 team will be the 3rd ANNUAL SMALL CAR NATIONALS this Friday and Saturday September 18th & 19th at HAGERSTOWN SPEEDWAY.  We hope to see you there.

Due to the changes in track schedules the next event for Doug Hoffman and the #27 team will be at Susquehanna Speedway and not Williams Grove Speedway as our original schedule showed.  The race will be this Saturday September 12th, racing starts at 6:00. We hope to see you there.

08-31-09

Doug Hoffman finished 8th last week at Williams Grove Speedway.  After having trouble in the heat with a flat tire Hoffman stared the feature 15th in the #27 and worked his way up to 8th.  The car was running and handling very well but Doug had trouble working around slower cars and with the big year end races at Hagerstown Speedway, Winchester Speedway and Susquehanna Speedway approaching fast Doug and his team is hoping to turn their season around just at the right time.

08-24-09

Williams Grove Speedway has added a race for the Street Stocks on Friday October 30th; it will be a feature only race.  Also Hoffman Motorsports has decided that Doug Hoffman and the #27 team will be running the annual Small Car Nationals at Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, MD Friday September 18th – Saturday the 19th instead of the Lincoln Speedway race that weekend.

07-30-09

Come out and see some great racing action. We hope to see you there.

07-07-09

Doug Hoffman finished 7th last Saturday night in the 4th of July 30 lap race at Susquehanna Speedway. After have trouble in the heat getting tied up with a car that spun early in the race Hoffman started 13th in the feature and worked his way up to a 7th place finish.

06-30-09

Doug Hoffman started the night with a strong heat win finishing ten car lengths in front of the second place car. At the end of the night the Hoffman Motorsports #27 was strong in the feature but a slick one grove track slowed Hoffman down working thru traffic. After losing several positions after getting tied up with a slower car Doug was able to work his way back up for a 5th place finish.

06-11-09

Despite having a very fast car Doug Hoffman had a disappointing 19th place finish after getting wrecked by a rookie driver at Lincoln Speedway last night. After taking the lead on lap two an out of control rookie ran into the side of the Hoffman Motorsports #27 in the middle of turns three and four causing Doug to spin. Hoffman was unable to continue due to damages to the car. Our next race is at Williams Grove Speedway on June 20th racing starts at 7:00pm.

06-08-09

After a week of long hours and a lot of work we had a good run this weekend at Williams Grove Speedway. After spinning out in the heat due to a lose car the crew worked hard to get the car where it needed to be for the feature. We starting 13th on a one groove track Doug worked his way up to a strong fourth place finish. Hoffman Motorsports would like to thank Madden Fabrication and the whole crew for all the hard work they put in to get the car repaired this last week. Our next race is this Wednesday June 10th at Lincoln Speedway; we will be running the make-up race from May 16th as well as the scheduled race. That means two features in one night so I hope to see everyone there.

06-01-2009

After a hopeful start winning his heat the night turned into disappointment as the Hoffman Motorsports #27 driven by Doug Hoffman was involved in a multi car accident on the first lap of the feature that took him out of competition and rendered him to a 15th finishing position. The crew is working hard to make repairs to the car and we will be ready for our next race this weekend at Williams Grove Speedway this Saturday June 6th. We hope to see you there.

05-05-2009

After a rough start to the season with engine troubles at Susquehanna Speedway we have had two very strong second place finishes. That means that we have finished in the top two for last eleven races in a row at Williams Grove Speedway.

Newberrytown, PA (October 18, 2008) – Doug Hoffman of Newville only led the final two feet of the race, but it was enough to earn the $3,000 victory in the 50 lap Street Stock main event over Paul Morgan at the Susquehanna Speedway Park on Saturday night. The Street Stock feature was one of three divisions featured at the 5th Annual Miller’s Racing Parts Fall Classic presented in part with Insinger Performance Fuels. On the restart, Paul Morgan and Doug Hoffman battled side by side with no clear advantage to either driver. Coming out of turn four of the final lap, Hoffman was finally able to grab the lead at the final two feet of the race to become the fifth different winner of the Fall Classic in five years of its running. (www.paposseracing.com; Written by Stephen Bubb 08-21-2008) Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; It was a double win night for street stock driver Doug Hoffman.  Not only did Hoffman win his fifth feature of 2008, but he also captured the 2008 Williams Grove Speedway street stock point title.  The start of the 15-lap L.B. Smith Ford street stock feature had a nine-car crash on the opening lap, bringing out the red flag.  No one was injured in the grinding wreck.  Pat McNeal took command of the lead when the race was restarted.  Doug Hoffman charged into second and quickly challenged for the lead.  On lap three Hoffman used a low line pass off turn two to take the lead from McNeal.  While Hoffman was setting the pace, Kory Sites worked his way into second. Sites was 30 points behind Hoffman coming into this final event.  Hoffman had total control of the event and was never challenged.  At the finish it was Doug Hoffman easily winning by 15 lengths over Sites, Kevin Sigler, McNeal and Kevin Wirt.  The heat events for the 22 L.B. Smith Ford street stocks went to Rodney Clouser, Doug Hoffman and Todd Bowersox.

news.southjerseydirtracing.com Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; Kevin Sigler won his very first 15-lap L.B. Smith Ford street stock feature at Williams Grove.  Sigler had to hold off constant pressure from Doug Hoffman and Kory Sites to gain the victory.  Dave Motter set the pace through the first half of the street stock feature.  Kevin Sigler started eighth and advanced to second by the completion of the first lap.  Sigler dove under Motter in turn four on the seventh lap to take over the lead.  With five laps remaining, Kory Sites and Doug Hoffman, the two leading feature winners in the Williams Grove street stocks, took over the two positions behind Sigler.  It was a three-car run for the win over the final five laps.  When Sites slipped in turn four with one lap remaining, Sigler was able to open up a slight lead.  Sigler’s Camaro drove under the checkered flag four lengths in front of Hoffman, Sites, Motter and Kevin Wirt.

(www.paposseracing.com; Written by Stephen Bubb 08-17-2008) Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; Doug Hoffman won his fourth L.B. Smith Ford street stock feature.  Hoffman had to catch a determined Dave Motter to win the 15-lap feature.  Dave Motter built up a large lead early in the street stock feature.  On lap five the second place car of Pat McNeal spun in turn two collecting top runners Gary Welsh and Kory Sites.  Welsh and Sites were eliminated from the race.  After the restart the top five of Motter, Walt Lemmon, Rodney Clouser, Kevin Sigler and Doug Hoffman pulled away from the field.  Hoffman began the race in 11th place and he was second by lap 11.  With three laps remaining the caution flag came out.  The caution erased the win hopes of Dave Motter.  Following the restart Hoffman took the lead from Motter in turn two.  Hoffman pulled away in the final two laps to win by eight lengths over Motter, Sigler, Clouser and Randy Fenner.

(www.paposseracing.com; Written by Stephen Bubb 07-13-2008) Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; The L.B. Smith Ford street stock division staged two feature races.  The first was a make-up race from two weeks ago.  The second was the scheduled race for the evening.  Doug Hoffman had a night he will never forget as he won both main events sponsored by Heritage Acres.  The first 20-lap street stock feature was the finest race of the night.  Dave Motter led the first two laps before being passed by Rodney Clouser.  Clouser and Kory Sites had a very intense battle for the lead, with the number one spot being exchanged several times.  The Clouser Camaro was leaving a trail of thick smoke.  During a caution flag on lap seven, Clouser dropped out of the event.  Kory Sites now held command of the race with Doug Hoffman in second.  Hoffman went to work on the outside lane.  With each passing lap he gained more ground on Sites.  On the final lap the two leaders were even coming off the second turn and raced wheel to wheel into the final turns.  Hoffman was able to gain a slight edge off the final turn.  At the finish line Hoffman won by a half-length over Sites.  Jim Salisbury, Kevin Sigler and Walt Lemmon completed the top five.  The second victory for Hoffman was much easier.  Hoffman started on the pole while his main competitor, Kory Sites, was back in 12th.  While Hoffman held a comfortable lead, Sites was rapidly advancing to the front.  By the end of lap four Sites had captured second place.  As the laps progressed, Kory Sites kept constant pressure on Doug Hoffman.  Hoffman led the all way and he won his second of the evening, his third straight, over Sites, Gary Welsh, Kevin Sigler and Jim Salisbury.

(www.paposseracing.com; Written by Stephen Bubb 06-22-2008) Saturday night at Williams Grove Speedway Doug Hoffman won the 15-lap L.B.Smith Ford street stock feature.  The victory is his first career win at Williams Grove.  Rodney Clouser led until the caution came out at the end of the second lap.  On the restart Doug Hoffman, the fourth place starter, charged into the lead.  A succession of caution flags over the next several laps kept the field behind Hoffman.  By the midway point of the feature, previous feature winners Jim Salisbury and Kory Sites were second and third.  The duo could not catch the leader Hoffman.  Hoffman cruised to an eight-length feature win.  The race for second was very close with Salisbury just edging out Sites by a margin of one foot.  Gary Welsh and Clouser finished fourth and fifth.
